Product Description

"To earn your freedom and reunite with your family, you must guide our hero through a series of arenas, which are under the ever-present gaze of the regime's electric eye. Each hazardous, decaying environment house an array of obstacles that you must navigate-leg-shattering drops (hope you're not scared of heights), flaming trash Barrels, inconveniently located Spike pits (naturally), dangling steel beams (watch for the rusty bits)-but all of that's nothing compared to the fates of the poor souls you'll meet along the way... Features cinematic platforming run, jump, Climb, and smash your way through each Arena while events unfold around you. Much of the story is revealed through seamlessly integrated animation sequences, NPCs dropping bits of dialogue as you sneak, dive, and dodge around them.

From the manufacturer

Ministry of broadcast

Ministry of broadcast

Cinematic platformer: Run, jump, crash, and climb your way through each Arena as the narrative unfolds around you. Much of the story is unveiled via smoothly integrated animation sequences, within the environment, or from NPCs muttering bits of dialogue as you dive and dodge around them.

Ministry of broadcast

Environmental HUD: Rather than having a screen cluttered with overlaid indicators, HP bars, and minimaps, any information the player will need is incorporated into the environment. Hints and clues are meshed into the game’s art, subtle and specific, players will need a keen eye if they want to survive each Arena without breaking their legs.

Ministry of broadcast

Puzzle-solving: Use your wits, and at times a dash of ruthlessness, to advance through the Arenas. You’ll have to interact with the environment itself to solve most of the puzzles: use the protagonist’s momentum to move platforms, flip the occasional lever, and sometimes you might have to sacrifice an NPC or two to cross a particularly spiky pit.

Ministry of broadcast

Story and Personality: Featuring lots of impish humor, Grade A sarcasm, and comic mischief, all balanced perfectly with the dark, heavy themes presented in this dystopian world.

I bought this on a lark.

I lived in Eastern Europe in the mid-1980s and visited the DDR (East Germany), and Czechoslovak Socialist Republic while living in the Polish People's Republic and this game eerily reminds me of that era, which was dark and dangerous for dissenters.

The gameplay is fun. Read the walls, signs, etc. to get important clues on what you are to do or where to go.

The game is a game and an obvious parody of a horrible time when people died or were imprisoned for the simple reason that they wanted to leave their home and go elsewhere. I'm sure no disrespect is meant by developers.

I consider this a "must buy" game, it is quite enjoyable in a slightly frustrating way, as are many games in this style of play.

I am up to the 4th level and absolutely plan on finishing this one, although I probably won't replay it more than once to get the collectibles (shoes).

The gameplay reminds me of a joke from that period: q: "what's the difference between communism and capitalism?" A: "under capitalism, man exploits man, under communism it's the other way around!" :-) our poor shoeless man is being exploited in his desperate bid for freedom

I would think this game should be priced at 19 and not 29. I got mine on sale at 15!

If you buy it, I hope you like it.

    Hope you make it through!
