I think it fair to say - approach with a bit of caution perhaps? A bit of research? The reason I say this is because at £40 this isn't cheap, and the films whilst fun, aren't classics. 101 have done us proud though, 2 good BLURAY transfers, good sound, picture and subtitles for both films plus Special featureas for both and an entertaining, informative (and unusual in its set up) booklet. ALLIGATOR is in my opinion the better of the two, mainly because the script is that bit livlier, and Forster makes for a strong lead. Also the Alligator is mostly very impressive, particulay at the wedding festivities, and he was NOT invited!....ALLIGATOR 2 is a pretty good film too, but suffers just a bit from a script relying on Commercialism vs death by Alligator. It benefits from amusing performences from Richard Lynch (who so obviously dresses to the right) - he steals the film, some amusing dialogue just not quite up to Film ONE standard, but fun. Fans of Dee Wallace Stone don't hold your breath - this beautiful talented actress is wasted. So both films are worth watching and have no bad language or too much gore, but still carry a punch. I nearly gave 4 stars, but, ignoring the current high price - this is a good double bill.

PLOT...
ALLIGATOR (1980)
A pet baby alligator is flushed down a toilet and survives in the city sewers. Twelve years later, it grows to an enormous size thanks to a diet of discarded laboratory dogs injected with growth hormones. Now, humans have entered the menu.
ALLIGATOR 2 (1991)
A giant alligator makes a city lake his new feeding ground and must be stopped before he breaks out into the surroundings.

The Alligator movies are classic fun B movie monster madness! Cheesy yes but so much fun, the original is best by far, a great movie for 1980 with a decent cast and story, your usual giant monster mutating in the sewer and breaking out to cause havoc, great effects for the time, all practical of course with cool giant Alligator action, some mild blood and violence scattered about, its just a great fun 80's movie if you love this era of horror and suspense, Alligator 2 however is not as great a movie, its almost a repeat of the original with a different cast but a lower budget, seeing as it was made eleven years later you would never tell. Still its entertaining and fun but has not as many great Alligator moments as the original, still an amazing set of movies from a great time in cinema, cheesy as hell but very entertaining.

The Original comes with 3 Discs, 4K which looks amazing for a 1980 movie, plus the standard Blu-ray and disc 3 is the TV cut and special features, I recommend the original cut, the TV cut just has 8 more mins of random longer scenes, nothing Alligator action related and that 8mins can be watched in the features.

Features on both discs include trailers and many interviews (Alligator, 84mins, Alligator 2, 43mins)
Region B UK. Running times Alligator, 91mins, Alligator TV cut, 98mins, Alligator 2, 93mins.
English language movies with English subtitles only.
The limited edition looks very nice, probably the best from 101Films yet, a great looking hard box with cool new art on the front, both cases have reverse the original VHS art, a poster of the new box cover art and a decent 52page booklet about the movies.
