Minor cosmetic damage to outer box but perfect otherwise

- Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2025I got this for my boyfriend for Christmas. The box was a little dinged up on the corners, but the steelbooks were in great shape. He collects steels and was almost in tears when he opened this - this has been one of his holy grail items forever. I'm so happy I was able to get it for him. 5 stars from me because the box corners being dinged didn't impact his watching or collecting experience in the slightest...in fact, he didn't even notice. He was just thrilled to finally own something that's apparently really hard to get these days.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2025I have the last airbender on dvd and wanted to complete the set. I love the series and don't want to lose access when Netflix takes it down. Good price on sale!!
- Reviewed in the United States on March 15, 2025Came in perfect condition. Box has some minor dinks on the corners, but nothing major. Each case is perfect and none of the discs have any problems. The spacers have minor damage, most likely happened during packaging but nothing worth getting worked up about.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2025Awesome series! The storyline is not as great as the original but overall it is a great series.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2024It's pretty hard to find this Steelbook set in Europe, so I ordered it from Amazon US. Shipping was pretty fast—it arrived in less than a week. Unfortunately, it was poorly packed. The set was inside the box without any protection, and because of this, the outer box has damage around the edges, as seen in the pictures. Fortunately, the Steelbooks themselves are undamaged. Since I'm only displaying them, I don't mind the damage to the outer box. I tried all the discs on my PlayStation 5 (Region B). Even though some sites mentioned that it's region-locked, all the discs played without an issue. The picture quality is also very good. I'm looking forward to rewatching the series.

[Ship from & sold by Amazon]
I saw a few negative reviews. There are not many so decided to chance it. Ive already seen the series and would give it a 5, but it loses a star due to Amazon package handling. (will lose more if it doesn't work)
Positive:
-I checked each case to see if there were finger prints or further damage. I could not find any.
-Thankfully the discs appear to be in new condition with no scratches and finger prints.
Negative:
-The big outer box has damage to edges and corners. (see photos)
-The box looked re-shrink wrapped, especially considering the how scuffed up it was underneath it.
-The blu-ray cases appear to be in good condition but were in reverse order (maybe a manufacturer error)
-Blu-ray discs in one cases were dangling around not attached inside. They could have easily been scratch up as a result. Those discs are not easy to remove when properly attached, which makes me question the package handling. Maybe it was thrown or dropped pretty hard, and multiple times since damage is not in one place.
-Some debris inside and outside of each case (possibly also from manufacturer)
I'm hoping the discs actually play. Some reviews stated only a few episodes worked, but I think that was the DVD version. I won't be able to test this out until after Christmas. Personally not too worried about the outer handling damage as long as it works. But this should not be sold as "New" if it is not.

- Reviewed in the United States on March 30, 2024The case is the size of two regular cases. The disk weren't staying in their spots and kept coming out. I was able of fix it with little effort but it was mildly annoying.
The show starts by showing Kora, the new Avatar, effortless learning the elements except air. It gave me Mary Sue vibes. Thankfully I was wrong. Unlike Aang, her struggle isn't in learning the elements. Her mastery of the elements ultimately means little in the wider story. I enjoyed seeing her struggle and how that affected character development. It's a great addition to the Avatar universe but can stand on it's own.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2017As someone that came late to the show (pretty late indeed, considering its been over a couple years), this set is a great deal. All episodes, compact package.
The extras are kind of minimal as far as I can tell, but to be fair I haven't looked on all the discs yet so there may be more that I'm missing. There's episode breakdowns by directors/producers, storyboarding etc. It does come with a compact art book, containing several pages of illustration per season and insights on design by the shows producers. Nice little extra.
The most important part is the show itself, though. Avatar: TLA was a great series. For me, the Legend of Korra absolutely matches up (and sometimes surpasses) it in every way.
The visuals are top notch; traditional hand drawn animation makes all the difference here. Too often these days animated shows will go for a more minimalist animation style or even worse, CGI. There are some CGI elements here, but very few (or some are blended so well I didn't notice). They certainly don't stand out in a negative way.
To sum it up, if you've never seen the show and are interested you should buy this set. I'd be very surprised if you didn't fall in love with the show for all these reasons:
1. Characters you care about
2. Great villians (even ones you might sympathize with)
3. Awesome action scenes
4. Genuinely hilarious (more often than you'd expect)
5. Voice talent off the charts (JK Simmons steals all the scenes he's in)
6. Hits all the emotional notes and then some.
Buy it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dommage
La série elle même mériterait 5 étoiles mais la boîte est arrivée abîmée avec des tâches et des rayures ce que je trouve dommage car j’aime garder les boites propres et en bon état mais le colis est arrivé dans les temps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Big fan of Korra, art and box design gorgeous! However, packaging ruined half the experience...

Original Review: So you're telling me my Limited Edition Steel book Set that I waited for years to come out arrived poorly packaged resulted with minor damages? I paid $114AUD for quality and this is what I receive?? I'm upset, I'm a huge fan of The Legend of Korra and I expected to have at least received the item in a box like I have in the past buying Blu-rays and DVDs, and yes all of them were shipped and sold by Amazon US too. The thing that upset me the most is that not only that it had to happen to my favourite show but it's also the most expensive item I bought on Amazon up to date. It's funny, I just checked, the first item I bought off of Amazon US was the ATLA/TLOK Bluray collection back in 2019. It was $89AUD and it came in a box and bubble wrap. That's not even the worst part, I noticed I'm not the only person who got theirs damaged in some way, I've seen some worse than mine! Seriously why is it so hard to package things properly these days? I'm even an annual prime member but that doesn't matter I guess?! Who's in charge of quality control I just wanna talk- like come on this is ridiculous!!! This isn't the first time though, it's somehow Korra related items that tend to arrive damaged, it's clear that no one seems to care...Apart from the damage, I do however am in love with the art of the boxset. Love the direction they were going for but another thing to point out, the material they used for the design of the box itself, it's not the best quality either. So yeah, of course it would get damaged easily being packed in cheap padded bags, it's so thin the print is falling apart, one more reason to why it should be packed in a box! Another thing, directed to the manufacturers this time, they seem to have rushed trying to get these out because the art on the steel book cases itself isn't printed properly; there's a visible black line going through Asami, what a let down. Lastly, thought this would never happen to me but the small bit of plastic that holds the disc in the center was broken before I even opened the whole thing. Disappointing...everything would be perfect if it had not come in damaged. There's no point of doing a return since Amazon obviously don't care about international customers. If only I could buy it from somewhere else I happily would but sadly they're the only ones who get to sell it. How unfortunate.
